- Lumberjanes #20- I am very behind on Lumberjanes, I actually haven’t read any of the issues post Noelle Stevenson’s departure and I’m not sure if the book has shifted at all or not. From the issues I have read of Lumberjanes, this series is so fantastic and fun to read. I actually plan to give out the first collected edition to a few people as Christmas gifts this year. Time to get caught up on this great series.
DC Comics
- Batman and Robin Eternal #7- I actually forgot to grab #6 in the shop. The series has held up as a very strong weekly so far and I am really enjoying the flashbacks with Batman and Robin. For readers who read Batman Eternal on a weekly basis I’ve heard the series got bogged down somewhere in the middle. Personally I binge read all 52 issues in one weekend (which was great). Hoping this weekly doesn’t get bogged down, and so far it hasn’t.

- Huck #1- I am reluctant to start a Mark Millar series. The last series of his I pulled single issues of was Jupiter’s Legacy. The series started great and I liked the setup but, because of serious delays, by the time issues started coming out again I no longer cared about the story. That being said, initial reviews for Huck have been very good. I’ll make a call in the store but let’s face it, I’ll probably end up grabbing the first issue.
- I Hate Fairyland #2- The first issue of I Hate Fairyland was a blast. I think Skottie Young has his work cut out for him to prevent this series from getting stale, but the foreseeable future this will be a fun, over the top series to read each month.
- Shutter #17- Shutter is easily one of my favorite ongoing titles month-to-month ever since it’s debut in 2014. Admittedly, I’m a few issues behind, but I was a few issues behind on every series I pulled following a very eventful summer.
- Tokyo Ghost #3- Speaking of favorite month-to-month titles, I better make room for Tokyo Ghost on that list. I have loved the set-up for this series and can’t wait to see how Remender and Murphy continue to develop this series.
Marvel
- Astonishing Ant-Man #2- I Enjoy Nick Spencer as a writer (bring back Bedlam!) and I am late to reading issue #1 of All New, All Different Ant-Man. This will make its way home with me assuming I enjoy issue #1 tonight (pretty safe assumption).
- Extraordinary X-Men #2- Extraordinary X-Men is on a short leash unfortunately. I thought the first issue was fine but it didn’t do a whole lot to hook me into a new x-men series. Jeff Lemire writing has be coming back for a couple of issues at least.
- The Mighty Thor #1- Like everyone else I loved Thor: God of Thunder. I didn’t stick with Thor following the conclusion of the God of Thunder run but have tried to stay current on the Thor happenings. Excited to jump back into Jason Aaron’s Thor.
- Ms. Marvel #1- Kamala Khan is officially an Avenger. Looking forward to see how her individual series will continue on now that she is an Avenger.
- Uncanny Inhumans #2- I am a big fan of the Inhumans ( love Inhumans by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee) so I really want this series to be a success. I enjoyed the first issue enough that I’ll be on for at least a full story arc.
Vertigo
- Clean Room #2- In my review of Slash & Burn #1 I mentioned how great Vertigo’s new titles have been. Clean Room of course fits into the category of solid new Vertigo releases. Gail Simone and John Davis-Hunt premiered Clean Room with a very intriguing first issue that has me looking forward to this series on a monthly basis.
- Red Thorn #1- Staying on the Vertigo hype train with a new series launch! I have to say I have only read the solicit description, so I will thumb through this quickly in the store before checking out, but I’m guessing this warrants reading the first issue at least.
